Helix Pomatia.

First woot!

From Reininger:

"...is a bombshell of a wine that will send you reeling with its toasted cedar backbone and hearty cherry marmalade! A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc..."
Not bad. Especially if it got damaged at all during transit. All the bottles were pretty cold when I unpacked them. It's a pretty toasty taste, and the cherry flavors melt in right at the end. Quite nice. I'm very pleased with wine.woot.

Holy cunt. Is that some fucking paella?

Obligatory. No, it's jambalaya.

Ref'd here and here. Eh, you know, you just start flippin' all those pages and throwing stuff around. I used my last two chicken thighs and chicken stock and shrimp. I also added, dare I say, too much black pepper. I wonder how much white pepper changes the flavor. But yeah, I'm eating celery for once. Weird. I should think of something to make with the other bunch before it goes bad. Needs more than one bell pepper. And I added bacon. Everything is better with bacon.

Yeah, a bit spicy. I added some Frank's to my bowl, and the pepper was still just...something else. Maybe I'll try it with the sour cream to tone things down.

Beef and Potato Burrito.

I'm not going to bother posting finished product shots. Because it's a burrito. This is about a pound of ground beef, 2 medium potatoes, 1 small onion, and a packet of taco seasoning. In the pan: beef, then potato and onion. Added some extra water to cook the potatoes through when seasoning. I think this will make at least three decent burritos, possibly four. Added sour cream, refried beans, cheese. The first one was with salsa verde (which was superior) and the second with japs inside. Maybe I'll make salsa for the next one. Eh.

Stuffed porkchops.

Simple stuff from break at home. Thick center cut chops. Scallions and crumbled bacon make a big part of it. The original recipe called for bleu cheese though I used creme cheese in this instance due to people's tastes. I think it's better with bleu cheese. Stuffed and pan fried (in the bacon fat for best results) for a few minutes on each side and then baked until done.

My sister made the hashbrown casserole and steamed broccoli. Mom made the oranges and apple rabbits this time.
