Pillow Cookies.

This is a huge cookie. The paperclip for scale. It is also a huge paperclip.

Saw the picture and a name and googled it. The recipe I found used box brownies and a from-scratch cookie recipe. I don't own box mixes of sweets (except pudding) so I made both from scratch. I used my standard chocolate chip cookie recipe, which, compared to the one given, uses more sugar to flour (2:3) versus their .6:1. The difference, I think, is that their ratio will yield a lighter, fluffier cookie which would be better suited here. Also, chilling the dough is a must. A slightly larger pan (I used an 8x8) would have given slightly thinner brownies.

Mine looks like a flying saucer.

Mayan Orange Brownies.

From Kevin. This recipe uses some baking powder so the texture is a lot lighter than those cocoa brownies I made the previous week. I find that brownies are much simpler than any other dessert since there's no need to soften butter. It just gets melted together with other stuff. Pretty convenient.

Cocoa Brownies.

From everybodylikessandwiches. I'm not sure why this is seriously intense? Because of the cocoa? I don't know what kind of brownie you would make without cocoa. That's standard for me. I couldn't find cocoa nibs, so I just doubled the amount of baking chocolate (100%). I guess the nibs were supposed to make it intense. Or seriously intense. Whatever. Shit's intense.

I think I also put baking powder in the last batch of brownies I made. I'm not sure why.

Butterscotch Brownies.

Considering the cocoa and the density, brownies takes more sugar relative to the four and butter and less baking powder. Also, using a round baking dish doesn't work that great.
